Quick Answer
Some detailed designs—especially vintage racing numbers with thin outlines—become too small to cut accurately at 1/64 scale. The result wouldn't meet our quality standards.
The Technical Challenge
At 1/64 scale, a racing number that looks great on a 1/24 car becomes incredibly tiny—often just a few millimeters. Here's what happens:
Intricate Designs Don't Scale Down Well:
- Fine borders become impossibly thin
- Detailed outlines blur together
- Clean die-cutting becomes impractical
- Numbers without solid backgrounds are especially difficult
What This Means in Practice
| Decal Type | 1/24 Scale | 1/64 Scale |
|---|---|---|
| Large racing numbers (with background) | âś… Perfect | âś… Works well |
| Vintage numbers (outline only) | ✅ Perfect | ❌ Too small |
| Bold stripes | âś… Perfect | âś… Works well |
| Fine pinstripes | ✅ Perfect | ⚠️ Very thin |
| Detailed roundels | ✅ Perfect | ⚠️ Limited detail |

Our Commitment to Quality
We'd rather not offer a product than offer one that doesn't meet our standards. If a design can't be executed cleanly at a smaller scale, we focus on the scales where it shines.
If you need specific graphics at 1/64 scale that we don't currently offer, let us know—we're always evaluating new products based on customer interest and technical feasibility.
